One of the biggest challenges facing the automobile industry in the coming years is the development of environmentally friendlier vehicles that are affordable, attractive and fun to drive.

At Vauxhall we continue to focus on developing environmentally compatible vehicles. Existing technologies offer considerable potential to further reduce CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. Vauxhall has been steering petrol and diesel engines towards a cleaner future and will continue to do so. Beyond that we will invest some one billion pounds specifically for alternative propulsion technology in the coming years.

Change is upon us. The charge to electro-mobility has begun. Apart from the Ampera, which will be the first extended-range electric vehicle (E-REV) to come to market in the UK, additional electric vehicles are on the drawing board. Small battery-operated cars which are ideal for shorter distances, hybrid cars and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles like the HydroGen4 are being researched. We call this strategy e-mobility unlimited.
